The “Being Cold” game. This is the one where you’re always cold: in the car, at work, wandering around the house, etc.

New Super Mario Brothers (Wii) is a big love letter from Nintendo to all their “core” fans. Four player co-op mode in a 2d Mario platformer? Yes, please! It’s like Nintendo made a game just for me.

Nothing on the DS. I’d had an amazing four year run where my DS was slotted with awesome games 24/7. After Valkyrie Profile they just dried up.

Left 4 Dead and Plants vs. Zombies on the PC. L4D is just… beautiful. I finally managed to crack my Quake Wars addiction, but only because I found something else just as addictive. Plants vs. Zombies is a wacky tower defense game by Pop Cap (the Bejeweled crew). It is a must play and at $5-10 it is an easy sell.

MAME on the netbook. It’s amazing just how awful most of the old coin-ops really were. That said, I’m pretty excited I found a copy of Street Fighter II’ “Rainbow Edition” a bootleg SFII I played as a kid in the arcades that introduced all sorts of neat hacks. It’s wacky, check it out (more info here)

On the board game front I’ve been playing Quiddler, Agricola, Chaos Rook, and Blokus. Quiddler is a great Scrabble/Word Ace-esque vocab game. Agricola is the most arbitrary and complicated game you’ve ever played; I’m still not convinced it’s basic mechanics are “elegant.” Chaos Rook is… chaotic. And Blokus is just amazing geometric fun! I’d play it every day if I could.

Try out Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes. It is like puzzle quest, but totally different and more action and story driven. I’ve enjoyed it much, and of course there is LOZ: Spirit Tracks.
Both need AHEM crAHEMcks made… ;-) due to the anti-p.
